Reflection :IIMUN Kodai
Weeks of preparations and hours of discussion finally lead us to triumph; our committee had unanimously passed a resolution. A few mods and unmods and hours of lobbying we came to conclusions. The three day long journey taught what the four walls of books didn't, it taught us how to effectively communicate, how to persuade other delegates and how much there is in this small world.
The first day consisted mostly of traveling and interaction following a perfect DJ party. The second day began with our traditional wear and commencement of committees. We discussed and solved a few crisis. On the following day we came up with resolutions and succeeded in passing resolution. This was followed by some games and the award ceremony post which we went around sight seeing in Kodai.
This three-day long journey was a knowledgeable one in my ways. Post this trip I have started reading the newspaper regularly and have got interested in global issues and how to solve them. This program also provided a demo of a delegate's career and how one could pursue it, giving a hint of the career options available.
Furthermore IIMUN strengthened the bond among us and taught us a lot about teamwork. We learnt how to divide work efficiently and do in-depth research. The trip vastly increased our knowledge about the UNITED NATIONS, it's councils, how it works and the roles of various countries in various councils.
The best part of trip was winning the Best Delegation which we did not expect. The sheer joy was manifested on our faces clearly and the celebration was even more grand. All in all, it was the days in paradise with a melange of emotions!
