Reflection: Farewell

Red Carpet Entry
Preparing for this farewell was really difficult and important for two reason, one because we were told implicitly that we can't do what we planned for and two because in the course of 8 months we got really close to our seniors.

The Entrance

Initially I thought we were doing just too much for a simple farewell and that there was way too much pressure and work but with time we managed to do everything.

Amidst our exams and tuition, this work was really hectic and I didn't expect so many people helping me out too. I didn't want to take up this project, I didn't want to be in charge of the decor because I thought I wasn't good enough and I won't be able to keep up the expectation level. This time, I lost hope and couldn't find the courage to make it through because of the extra pressure but surprisingly it was the best decor we've done till date.

I found myself coming up with all kinds of 'Juagaad' (meaning fix or hack). For instance, what do we do out of the clock which doesn't fit the theme? Gift wrap it and make a IB clock showing how we procrastinate things. How do we get yellow lights in low budget? Put yellow light papers on the white lights. What do we do about the old boxed kept in the hall which totally ruins the atmosphere? Cover it neatly with a neat cloth making it look like a table for mementos. This were a few solutions I came up with.
The ultimate look

Being open minded, balanced and reflector were the few IB attributes I acquired through this activity but above all this what became stronger was my confidence level and courage. Team work, as always, held the most predominant role in organizing the event.

The clock is there
Apart from decor, I also had to host a game which failed really bad, the audience were clearly not engaged but taking it in a positive note, I learnt how to host an event for 50 people and keep them all happy and engaged. Planning the agenda was difficult because we had to keep all the 45 students in mind and keep them all engaged.

In the pictures here I have shown you the details f everything we did. The clock, the screens, the post cards, the cut out of heart and spades, everything was hand made. Every detail in the pictures had a lot of effort and time put into it. From sitting and blowing the balloons to climbing on tables to hang the photos, everything was done by us!
