Reflection: Training
Training
around 25 students of different age groups couldn't have been more
fun and challenging. I throughly enjoyed this process, it made me
more confident as a person, more thoughtful and organized. I started
to plan things in my head and execute them properly, which till date
I failed to do properly. Apart from sending long emails and dividing
work neatly, I also learnt how to explain your thoughts in various
ways. The 7th graders needed a much more simple and
elaborate explanations while the 9th graders did well with
short and technical explanations. Furthermore, I learnt on how to
tackle my way and get work done before time, for example, when I had
to make the delegates do speeches, some were very enthusiastic and
completed them the very next day, while some had to be pestered to
complete it.
I
loved the mock sessions the most. These mocks made me a better
leader, I gained the experience of being a chair and managing a
committee. Their enthusiasm and curiosity during these sessions kept
me going because at one point I was on the verge of giving up. I
couldn't handle 15 big mails at the same time, reply to everyone
immediately and finish my own research too , it got into my head but
what pulled me through was their enthusiasm and curiosity. I couldn't
help but stay strong and help them.
This
activity as a whole was filled with work and in the end I enjoyed it.
I learned that leaders are not always loud, strong and hated by
everyone, you could be soft, patient and loved by everyone. The thank
yous and love from all delegates in the end covered up all the stress
and tension of the past 7 days. I become a better listener, thought
before I answered their questions, reflected on the training
sessions, thought and analyzed them to make it better. I couldn't get
any better experience of training than this.
