Eco Club expands

Natural Air purification, a project we started to combat air pollution and health problem. The aim of this project was to bring in plants into our daily life which does not only cool your room but also purifies it making it purer and healthier for you. We installed plants in the cabins but it did not stop there. We wanted to grow.

One day while taking care of the plants on the bridge we noticed the 5^th graders circling and crowding around us. Their inquisitiveness led us to expanding the project and handing each class a pot but to keep up with their enthusiasm we had to come up with something interesting which permanently stays in their heart and mind. An activity is the best when done by heart and this was seen in this project.

After a meeting we decided we would have a warm welcome followed by a presentation. The presentation would include a song, an act and interactive activity. We also had jokers stationed at the corners of the hall who would hop in to engage the crowd with different riddles. We also had two animated videos which spoke about the need of houseplants and the need to save our mother Earth.

A friend and I were the anchors. I was nervous because this is the first time I would interact with such a young crowd and we had to make sure we did everything we could in our reach to make this their best time. We heard that they were really enthusiastic and we did not want to do anything by mistake to discourage them. However, the interaction was fun and it did not feel like I spoke to them for the first time.
