Who we are?What is South Indian Model United Nations
The South Indian Model United Nations is a 3- day international relations and diplomacy conference for the students which is to be held in The Indian Public School, Coimbatore.
At the South Indian Model United Nations, delegates are given the opportunity to enter the world of the United Nations and Foreign Relations to gain the apprehension and insights of diplomacy by assuming the roles of UN representatives and international diplomats of national cabinets. Students as delegates would be exposed to the world of the United Nations where they would be subjected to experience and learn the skills of research, high-quality debate and drafting resolutions through discussing issues of global importance and concern. Participants will be motivated to develop their abilities to work with others who are equally passionate about discussing the given issues and responding to them through the multiple forms of debate experiences.
The South Indian Model United Nations strives to create and build an experience that is one of a kind. Having various Model United Nations organizations in the present day, the South Indian Model United Nations looks forward to establishing such an experience for the region of South India. Based in Coimbatore, the South Indian Model United Nations expands to the region of South India, a region filled with growing potential and opportunity for engagement.
With the will of being true to the United Nations, the South Indian United Nations will look upon fostering a constructive forum to lay the platform where delegates will discuss open dialogues on pressing issues of global importance, including international peace and security, and economic and social progress. With the views of having a conference of its highest quality, the South Indian Model United Nations stresses the in-depth examination and resolution of these issues, keeping in mind the emphasis of process over product. During the conference, delegates will be taught the importance of balancing national interests with the needs of the international community, while also learning about the powers and limitations of international negotiation. Delegates will preserve their countries’ national policy while negotiating in the face of other, sometimes conflicting, international policies.

Providing Substantive ExcellenceThe staff of the South Indian Model United Nations is carefully selected to include the most passionate and dedicated members from throughout India. Each of the Study Guide prepared is specially designed for its respective committee and portrays careful and in-depth research. All of our executive board members are extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and well versed with the ideals of Model United Nations as a whole and the South Indian Model United Nations in particular, to help broaden the educational mission of the very aspect of Model United Nations. With what is being provided, the South Indian Model United Nations would strive to provide well-run and focused committees and hopes to see delegates leave the conference with a new-found passion for international relations and greater awareness of the issues that dominate our world.
Establishing a tradition and procuring innovationWith it’s first conference in place, the South Indian Model United Nations looks forward to establish a tradition of fully committed, ensuring and furthering conference experiences at every session. With Excellence at its sights, the South Indian Model United Nations looks to promote a new class of international dialogue and to remain dedicated to exploring new and exciting ventures for all conference participants, including delegates and faculty advisors. The South Indian Model United Nations will feature innovative committee simulations, new age technologies and also great entertainment in store for delegates outside of committees.
Size and DiversityAt the South Indian Model United Nations, delegates along with faculty advisors would be given the opportunity to meet and interact with an approximate of 500 delegates from all across the region. The South Indian Model United Nations looks to provide to be a host of substantive issues for this diverse and potential-filled group of students and lay a platform for a forum for debate and negotiation among them and hence creating a truly worthwhile experience. Our conference is designed to foster negotiation and public speaking skills, introduce students to a range of global challenges, and provide culturally diverse perspectives on a variety of issues. The South Indian Model United Nations looks to bring together the youth of this region and create a truly diverse experience.
