SIMUN - 6

Food? Sleep? Study? What are you saying? All that was running in our head was Allotments, registrations, payments, delegates and SIMUN. The month of February, March and April were the three months where sleep, food and study had become our long lost friends. We were constantly struggling to balance everything and pull it off. There was a turmoil towards the end. Allotments were messed up, our data sheets got messed, payments and registrations were incomplete and internal conflicts began. All of us quit so many times but Rolf sir got us back and motivated us throughout and if this was a success, it's solely because of him. We had internal conflicts to the verge that we all became rebels and the school had to get involved to sort it out and help us make it through. Their intervention is another reason why we made it through successfully.

In the month of April a lot of things were going on simultaneously and in this post I am going to tell you guys what I did.
- Data sheets. The guy handling this part had made some errors and the major countries were not allotted yet. Without these countries what will the committee do? So I quickly made the changes and made sure the team sent out emails to everyone regarding the changes and their allotments. This took up a lot of time as I had to make the allotments on 3 different sheets, check and then send out the emails in the right format. As usual, I caught hold of more people and got their help. At the same time we had nth minute registrations and people had their own choices of countries, we had a million calls on change of allotments and we did whatever we could.

-Making the ID cards. This was tough. We sat the whole day without eating and made the ID cards. I collected as many laptops as possible and got everybody I could and made them sit separately to avoid any disturbance. Everybody was given a list of students and thought how to make the ID cards. This was particularly difficult because we had less time and people were getting tired, they were losing focus, I had to nag them continuously to get the work done. I couldn't do it by myself because there were too many names and one person had to make sure everyone was doing it without losing it midway. After this we had to check it all once to make sure we didn't miss anyone. That was another long process because there was an error on our data sheets.

- Accommodation - I am so thankful Jhansi ma'am took over and made the perfect list here. However, there were nth minute registrations and our data sheets were messed but somehow that fell into place too.

- Organizing committee. I went around with the DPC and made a note of students who could join the organizing committee. We had to handpick them because the whole grade wanted to participate. The organizing committee primarily focused on arranging the classrooms and preparing the delegate kits. I kept checking on them but they did a very good job and handled everything well. Once this was done, half the group went to make the noticeboards and the other half focused on ID cards and last minute additions.

- Guests and DJ. Deputy Director general took over this part (I was so happy) and contacted various personalities and requested them to come. IPS officer, UN member, Limca world record holder for memory, Abhay Jodhpukar and DJ Prince made it to the conference and arranging their transport, contacting them and explaining everything to them was taken over by Dep Dec Gen and I was relieved.

There are so many more things I looked over but this is all I can type. Bye for now!
