Reflection: HMUN

HMUN was on completely new level of WOW. It was more competitive, more intense and extremely different from my previous MUN experiences. People were very smart and focused and I had to constantly pull myself together to compete them. It was a completely new challenge to tackle people at so many levels and understand their motives between their sugar coated lines. Furthermore, convincing and persuading them was also challenging since I had to mentally note every word I say and filter my thoughts. I had almost zero experience at all of this and my research didn't seem enough to help me out here. I was losing my confidence too because of the nervousness which I will focus on henceforth. After facing failures here, I understood what I need to work on to be a better MUNner next time. My aim was to gain experience and learn everything a conventional classroom setup could not give and skill which could only be developed through experience.
