Rajasthan Diaries :Bapu bazaar
I am probably the only person who was born in the land of Kings and Queens and hasn't even come remotely close to exploring Rajasthan, so when I got an opportunity, I seized it real quick. I landed in Jaipur on the 24th night and started exploring the city on the 25th. Since I brought only 2 sets of clothes with me, I headed out straight into the Jaipur Bazaars. The bazaar I went to was called "Bapu Bazaar" which is very popular for clothes, accessories and 'joothi' (a type of bellies). Surprisingly, everything here comes at around Rs 400 to 500 but there is a trick, as always. Pshh, everything comes at a cost. You have to freaking bargain, if you have the right skills, the price can go down by Rs 300 to 500 easily or you can be the fool who brought a piece worth 200 bucks for 1000 bucks. And guess who that fool was? Well, it was the first time I shopped by myself so I can give myself some peace. I walked through the streets with hundreds of other shoppers and eventually got lost. There are over 300 shops, which look exactly the same because of the uniform orangish pink color and the intricate Rajasthani architecture, scattered all around the place. It was nothing short of a labyrinth or a maze. I kept landing at the same shop every ten minutes and soon got tired in the scorching weather. However, I did do a lot of shopping at a very affordable price and about quality, we'll know it very soon.A quick summary:
Place: Bapu Bazzar, Jaipur
Special for : The similar architecture & Clothes and accessories at a reasonable price
Food available: There are street food joints which serve Pani puri and sandwiches along with juices and ice creams.
Look out for: BARGAINING!
