Medical diaries - Journal 5
Okay so now after researching and breaking my head I figured what I was going to do which I will list it down for you.
1) Wait till May 2nd and register for UKCAT. UKCAT is clinical aptitude test which has to be taken in order get into a med school in UK. Pretty much all the universities required this or the BMAT exam except University of Buckingham and UCLAN. These two unis do not have any entrance exams.
2) Since I can only apply to 4 universities for medicine I have to start researching and pick the best universities for me
3) Build up a strong work background which would make my application stand out. From what I have seen, I need to have these three activities on my personal statement: shadowing a doctor, working in an NGO or any environment which requires you to be compassionate and serving and finally, a volunteer experience.
Now since I had the plan of staying in India I never bothered checking the deadlines which was a bad idea because the deadline for this year is up. So I need to apply next year which is a good idea because I always wanted to take a gap year and now I have a reason to. So right now, I am going to work on these 3 items and then update you with the other activities I do. Lots of travel posts coming up!
