Family Getaway: Day 1
Since I have been away from Mom and Dad for a very long time and we've been so busy in our lives that we barely had any time together, we decided to go on a trip. There is a beautiful resort called Cherrathurty Eco Gardens and we had quite a few rooms available. The plan, however, took a huge turn when some of Dad's friends joined in. We are pretty close and connected so this seemed like a perfect getaway trip for all of us. A chance to escape our daily routine and enjoy ourselves. We were around 20 people with 10 kids. The kids house was huge and being among and we knew that the next three days was going to be the best three days! Don't believe me? Look at the pictures for yourself.
We played badminton, swam around and danced all night. This trip might not look as important as the other cultural and exchange camps but this was close to me for many reasons. One, I got to spend time with my family. Two, it is important to know where your roots are. Going on trips like this with people like them teaches a lot about your own culture. For example, one of the uncles follows all the traditions of Jainism. He doesn't eat underground vegetables and the reason surprised me. Live and let live is the general tradition of Jainism but there is science to this. Apparently underground vegetables are in a class of vegetables which makes you more anxious and aggressive by heating your body and to a very large extent that is true scientifically. Another uncle is so energetic that it makes you wonder how? How does he get so much of energy. The trick is simple. Have water only after one hour of food and half an hour before food. It makes him so energetic that he beats all of us in every sport. He beats all the teenagers and still doesn't get tired. Okay, now that's a lot of gyan for a day. I should sign out now. Bye bye.
