My nani was awarded the woman of the year for the year 2018 for all the work and service she did to the community. She graduated with a BA degree in the era when women could not even step out of the house, she has always been supportive of women empowerment and this year was her year. We all went to the event and I was asked to recite a short poetry. I can write poetry in English but Hindi was not my area. A poetry leaves an impact when the words are right and although I knew Hindi fluently, finding right words was a task. In the end, my aunts helped me out and I recited the poem!
